Vinnie's Bar
About This Spot
Stepping into Vinnie’s Bar feels like entering a familiar corner of Decatur where time slows just enough to savor the company of locals and the hum of everyday life. Nestled on N 2nd Street, this is a place where the night unfolds with an unpretentious warmth — the kind of bar that reverberates with stories, laughter, and the steady pulse of shared moments. The pace here invites you to linger, whether you’re catching a live band playing that gritty, genuine rock or simply settling in with a well-priced drink after a long day.
The atmosphere carries a hint of nostalgia, a reminder of simpler, homegrown gatherings where people come together not just for the music or the menu, but for the sheer comfort of connection. The dim lighting and worn-in ambiance whisper of years past, while the friendly staff, known for their steady, welcoming presence, keep things flowing smoothly, especially on quieter nights.
Vinnie’s offers more than just drinks—it’s a communal table for hearty slices of pizza that pair perfectly with a cold beer or a classic tequila sunrise. Specials pepper the week, encouraging you to return and rediscover familiar favorites without fuss or pretense. Whether you’re here for the crowd’s cheer or a solo moment at the bar, it’s evident that Vinnie’s is much more than a stop on the map; it’s an emblem of local life’s unfolding, unvarnished stories.
Behind the clinking glasses and steady beat, there is a shared understanding: this is a hometown staple where the music is real, the prices fair, and the spirit welcoming — a balance of good times and genuine atmosphere that keeps patrons coming back to this humble Decatur refuge.

Pizza is good and drinks are decently priced. The smoke is overwhelming though. As a non-smoker I realize it will be smoky but it’s a lot more than that. The inside needs a remodel to match the front entrance

Great bar to see live bands, has that atmosphere of days past rock joints. Pizza is good and the drink prices are fair so get a room in town and have a good time with your party watching some of the regional music acts that keep live music going through this Era of dance clubs where you don't see the skills of people wielding instruments to make music, instead pushing a button and mp3s have killed many great clubs of yesteryear, keep supporting live entertainment

Place is a good hometown staple. Prices have hiked though. Service is good on quite non holiday nights, but gets a little iffy on busy ones. Always sociable though. Drinks aren't short on liquor ever either.

This is an amazing place in decater indiana. I /we got to have free pizza bought after my dad's gig on Thursday and a man from the freemason bought us all two pizzas yummy Plus, the woman's bathroom/ restroom was awesome! There was perfume in there!

Vinnies is your average bar spot in most small towns. They have cheap drinks, pool, and music. I tried the pizza. It was okay. The crust was a little too dough tasting, but cooked just right. The sauce was lacking in flavor and in quanity. The cheese was very good, it tastes fresh and flavorful. The pepperonis were okay, just normal. Overall, it's probably a 6.7/10 as far as pizza goes. The pizza was fairly priced for a large. The service was alright.

Great pizza, staff and service! Vinnie's has been around for a long time! They renovated in late June 2019 and offer smoking and non smoking rooms! They've kept the original bar, so when you go it you can feel the nostalgia. I love Vinnie's! It's usually pretty busy on Friday and Saturday evenings after 9pm.
